This site was a fun project to work on, Me and Francois spent alot of time with the site, fine tuning and tweaking. He likes clean and white colors like myself. The photo’s stand out nicely and the overall feel is just awesome!

This site was once again a project where I used the prophoto backend by Net Rivet. Although this gives you nice templates to work with but I would rather just use the functionality of the system and create my own looks and themes.

Francois van Zyl is a great photographer who has a creative mind. He does Landscapes and other types of photo’s aswell and all of it is just awesome!

To find peace in beauty for my soul

Cool hour of morning, monkeys feed
Gazelle’s prance and dance in the wind
I walk content along well trodden tracks
A noonday sun, African bush sleeps
At sunset they wake, begin to move
Down to the Waterhole the track they follow
To Hunt, to die, to drink, striving for survival
A silver moon lights up the Savannah
Stars dance to the call of Africa’s song
The grunt of a Hippo, all is well
A Hyena laughs close by others respond
A welcome lull during this African night
Of which I am part, albeit for a short while

The weather was great, slightly cold but great. The Lodge was great, they go out of their way to make you feel special and they make sure you enjoy your stay.I have no words to describe the food, it was really great tasting and they have a wide variety of food to cater for everyone taste.

The game viewing was good, had everything from Rhino to Close-ups of Lions. Had a great time with the Birding ( even though I am a beginner at it ).

Another Great trip arranged by the Africa Direct Team.

Using dark colors and some Yellow I could spend some time and create something really nice and simple.

The site is all about Hilton’s trips and the lodges he stays in. He has a few websites from Stock photography to a website where you can arrange a complete Safari with him as Host. I enjoy working with him on alot of different projects.

Part of the design (header) is thanks to Chillies who also does great completely custom websites.

I had the privelege of doing well known photographer Johan Pretorius’s website and getting him connected with social media and getting his website up to standard. Spent some time working on the design. Colors and logo came from Double Purple, Theme Backend created by Netrivet.

At this camp we atleast had working showers and bathroom facilities. Once again after 40 min’s off-road we were tired and still had to set up camp. The main reason for going was to “hopefully” get lion catching springbuck, but our timing was bad with the time of year and ended up shooting all BUT that. It still was a great experience.  Nxai Pan is a nice destination to go to. Reasonably near by is Khumaga National Park and in the park you will find the Boteti River. We made a day trip to there where we saw alot of Zebra and Elephants.

One thing of Botswana I will remember is the smell and that is the place where I had my first ever Camping Trip. I had great company with me, including : Hilton Kotze, Francois van Zyl, Andrew and Nicolene. Having them along on the trip made it a fun and memorable time.

All specializes in a certain field. Hilton : Wildlife Photography, Francois : Landscapes and art aspect, Andrew : Ex-Ranger with knowledge and Nicolene : just for being the fun person she is.

I must say at first I was sceptical about the whole camping affair seeing that at Baines Boabab the only shower available is a bucket shower but in the end it turned out to be very fun. the scenery was absolutely amazing and just being there was such a great experience. In the pans itself I have never experienced silence and beauty as that. The Boabab tree’s are awesome to see, and overall experience was great.

I would suggest it for anyone who loves nature and camping. From here on we went to Nxai Pan National Park for further camping.

This was my first ever safari so it was a really exceptional experience, it was also the first time I had a shot at proffessional photography and I absolutely fell in love.
